Recently, Crosskey Architects received Second Place in the Just Big Enough Green Housing for ALL architectural design competition. This design competition highlighted how we can create very small and affordable, sustainable homes for people who have been priced out of the green housing market. The competition was sponsored by the City of Northampton, co-sponsored by the American Institute of Architects Western Massachusetts, and supported by the Boston Society of Architects Foundation and the Pioneer Valley Habitat for Humanity. Participants were challenged to design three small, net zero energy homes on three neighboring lots located in Northampton, MA.
