This mixed use development project is on the 14.6 acre site of the former Ideal Forge Corporation, conveniently located three blocks from Main Street and within easy access of I-84. Design considerations include floodplain and brownfield issues. The plans feature ground level retail and a combination of home-ownership and rental units, which will serve as an impetus for redevelopment in the area. Site amenities will include conversion of the former power generation building into a community center, direct access to the rails-to-trails greenway, and views of the Quinnipiac River.
