Dutch Point

Location: Hartford, CT

Size: 270 Units

Status: Completed 2006

Dutch Point Hope VI Revitalization has transformed Hartford’s Dutch Point Colony housing complex. Once a dilapidated 1940s barracks-style “super block”with a high crime rate, the neighborhood is now a pedestrian scaled, family-friendly traditional urban neighborhood. Crosskey Architects worked closely with residents and community members during the design process to build consensus and ensure that their needs were addressed. The project is designed to maximize amenities of the Sheldon/Charter Oak neighborhood, including nearby Colt Park and the historic Church of the Good Shepherd, and it won a Preservation Award from the Hartford Preservation Alliance in 2007.
