Building

Located at the intersection of West and Noroton Avenues, the 10.6-acre site had 53 units of housing. The Darien Housing Authority redeveloped the site to achieve greater density, while respecting the residential building fabric of adjacent neighborhoods. Crosskey Architects met with current and future residents, as well as other key community members, to discuss their needs during the programming and design phases. The project followed a plan that facilitated phasing of the project and achieved higher density through demolition of the existing buildings and construction of primarily four-family houses. The design complements the surrounding neighborhoods and supports a strong sense of community with walkable streets, central courtyards, and a community building.
