The Grand on Ann

Formerly Hartford’s Masonic Hall, this building has monumental scale, decorative brownstone and brickwork, and Masonic symbols that lend an imposing and richly detailed presence to a prominent downtown corner. It retains unusual historic details such as cast iron storefront columns and sidewalk vault lights, which allow daylight into the basement. The building, completed in 1894, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The restaurant tenant remains on the first floor and the upper five floors have been converted into 26 one-bedroom apartment units, each with spacious and unique floor plans. Several units include high ceilings, large windows, exposed iron and wooden trusses, and other distinct characteristics in keeping with the building’s historic nature. Amenities include a fitness and club room with flat-screen TVs, wireless internet access, free weights, workout equipment, a lounge, and hotel-style room service via the Tavern Downtown.
